CONCERNING
PROCEDURES FOR THE APPLICATION FOR PERMIT TO IMPORT PLANT PROPAGATING MATERIALS INTO THE TERRITORY OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIATHE

MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE,

Considering:

that for the implementation of the Decree the Minister of Agriculture No. 431/Kpts/Um/7/1977 it is deemed necessary to lay down procedures for the application for permit to import plant propagating materials into the territory of the Republic of Indonesia

PROCEDURES FOR THE APPLICATION FOR THE PERMIT TO IMPORT PLANT PROPAGATING MATERIALS INTO THE TERRITORY OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA.

Article 1

(1) Any application for permit to import plant propagating materials into the territory of the Republic of Indonesia shall be made in writing to the relevant Director General through the National Seed Board, a copy of which shall be sent to the Centre for Agricultural Quarantine, by filling in a from of application for import permit of plant propagating materials which is available for that purpose, prior to the entry into the territory of the Republic of Indonesia of plant propagating materials.

(2) The letter of application shall contain the name, address, occupation of the applicant, the plant species, variety/clone/hybrid, the quantity, place of origin of the plant propagating materials, the name, address and occupation of the consignor, means of conveyance, point of entry, purpose of importation.

(3) If the applicant does not give all the information required on the application form, the preparation of the permit may be delayed or the application may be rejected.

Article 2

In so far the plant propagating materials have never before been introduced into the territory of the Republic of Indonesia, the National Seed Broad shall consult the relevant research institute as to whether or not the plant propagating materials may be imported into the territory of the Republic of Indonesia.

Article 3

The National Seed Broad shall forward the application along with the recommendation to the relevant Director General.

Article 4

Any applicant who has received a permit to import plant propagating materials must contact the Centre for Agricultural Quarantine to obtain information on the plant quarantine requirements.

Article 5

Permits to import plant propagating materials on refusals from the Directorate-General concerned shall be forwarded by the National Seed Broad to the applicants.

Article 6

Plant propagating materials imported into the territory of the Republic of Indonesia in accordance with the procedure laid down in this Decree may be destroyed by plant quarantine inspector or sent back by the importer, except those plant propagating materials imported with a permit under the provision in Article 8 of the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture No. 431/Kpts/Um/7/1977 as amended by Decree No. 22/Kpts/Um/1/1978.

Article 7

All costs connected with the administrator of plant quarantine regulations shall be borne by the applicant concerned.

Article 8

This Decree shall come into force on the date of issuance.
